In our effort to serve as a premier entertainment platform of showcasing and demonstrating talent in Nashville, we would like to formally introduce you to the recent Belmont University graduate and DAZEY babe, Katelyn Epperly.

Fusing dark emotions with mellow tones, Katelyn has certainly found her niche with this soulful rendition of "Drunk in Love" by Beyonce. We've realized that this is her world, and we're just gracious to live in it. And for that, we salute you!

The Trunk Nashville: Pop-Up Shop

When we first began our pursuit of establishing The Yacht Club Clothing Company, we had a vision that we would be able to bring fashion and entertainment from place to place. Our online store has allowed us the ability to reach a worldwide market with the potential opportunity of owning a brick-and-mortar location in the future. In the meantime, we wanted to build a trailer or truck that would allow us to open shop at events and a street corner near you. Well we made friends with The Trunk, which operates Nashville’s first fashion truck as well as a boutique located in East Nashville.

Abigail Franklin, an aspiring entrepreneur that has spent decades styling male performers including Bon Jovi, Prince, and members of Creed, started The Trunk to bring products to you versus waiting for you to come shop. We first spotted The Trunk truck among food trucks at an event, and we instantly fell in love with the concept of the fashion truck. After all, if you can sell gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and hip-hop inspired wraps from a converted service truck, then why not clothing and jewelry?

We sent her an email to let her know how much we admired her passion; suddenly, it sparked this partner-ship between our brands. In our attempt to bring fashion from place to place, The Trunk Truck & Boutique became the first retail location to carry The Yacht Club brand in Nashville. That’s not all…

In our effort to keep overhead costs low, we are constantly working on ways to bring our merchandise to you without the commitment of a storefront lease. So, The Trunk is emptying their store to set up shop at the Fashion for a Fraction event, and they are graciously allowing us to have a 2-day pop-up shop at their location.

We’ll be hosting the pop-up shop this weekend, Jan. 25th & 26th, located at The Shoppes on Fatherland. We’ll be showcasing new and exclusive merchandise with store discounts, food, music, and beverages.

Come fellow-ship with us as we celebrate Music, Art, Fashion & Action.

Naked Without Us

We’re excited to announce our participation with Naked Without Us at the newly renovated 12th & Porter Nashville. Naked Without Us is a fashion show featuring 8 local designers and boutiques, also performances by The Cold Stars, Blackfoot Gypsies, The Hollywood Kills, Strooly, and more. We encourage you to join us at this special event, as a portion of the ticket sales goes to help Carry On Records.

Carry On Records is a non-profit startup founded in Nashville, Tennessee, Music City, that aims to give those currently undergoing cancer treatment the opportunity to write and record their own music in a real recording studio.

Many clinical trials have shown the benefits of music therapy for short term pain, and some studies have even suggested that music may help decrease the overall intensity of a patient's discomfort during cancer treatments such as chemo therapy.

Carry On was established by four young people from Nashville, Tennessee with a common dream: To one day give people across the country who are battling cancer the opportunity to find comfort in the music they love, and to express themselves with the music they write.

There is no better place than Music City, USA to make a dream a reality. It will start here, and with your help it can begin now.

Starting a business is an expensive task, and starting a nonprofit is no different. While Carry On does their part to minimize overhead and  reduce the general expense associated with starting a nonprofit, they need your help to make Carry On Records a reality. 100% of your donation will go directly to bottom line expenses associated with Carry On Records.

Carry On Records seeks to raise $3,000 to assist in offsetting costs associated with this phase of a startup, including critical marketing material such as a website, promotional pieces for distribution to hospitals, doctors offices and clinics, and legal expenses.

It is our goal to host a Christmas benefit concert in December featuring Carry On Records artists and benefiting Carry On Records, so that we may continue to do what we love: help people fight cancer with music.

Reggie Williams

Reggie Williams grew up on a steady diet of Jazz and Soul like George Benson, Sade, and All Jarreau, but it was hearing rock and pop when he was 13 that made him want to begin writing and recording music. Reggie started performing around the same time, and people became connected to his music much like the way he was connected to the music he loved.

Reggie began with two bedroom recordings titled, Songs For Stories and Learning to Live, which you can find for free here: reggiewilliams.bandcamp.com. He grew up in the scene, playing any show he could get, and moved on to Florida State University’s Music School.

He began writing more songs while obtaining his education, and knew he wanted to do something of higher fidelity that would convey the ideas better. So he began saving up and began recording with a close friend and producer, Robby, and released the Change EP in January of 2012, which can also be found on Reggie’s Bandcamp.

Currently, Reggie resides in Orlando, FL, and the next step is to give more and to grow. He has been writing more songs since his move, and he plans to record an EP and head on tour up the east coast to 33 cities, one of which will be Nashville, with the help of our audience backing his Kickstarter, which you can check out here: http://kck.st/19Y0HAw. Reggie and his backers believe in what he is doing here wholeheartedly, and we want to invite you to join as well.

Classic Williams - Epic Win

Like the Ryman Auditorium, not much has changed inside Nashville’s urban scene. The same artists that a few years ago were championed as “the next big thing” are still being championed, and the same producers that were “tomorrow’s sound” are still recycling yesterday’s rhythms. The current scene’s roots run deep beneath the streets, leaving little room for young artist to push their way through. It’s time for Nashville to turn their eyes and ears to the skies, there you will find Nashville native & hip-hop enigmatic Classic Williams, a skilled MC and songwriter. Classic Williams is separating himself from the likes of other artist and reviving Nashville’s languid urban scene with the release of his debut album EPIC WIN.

Dropping consecutive mixtapes in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 (A Classic Mixtape, #iHateClassic, #SMH, The Soul of Nigger Charlie, re(FLEX)tions) as well as freestyle battles, radio airplay, live performances and being featured on several local projects, the buzz around Williams has steadily grown throughout the Southeast region. Currently enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University (Recording Industry Major, concentration in Music Business), William's passion for music started at an early age, as he remembers music has always been a part of his life, recalling his early years: “I’m an entertainer, but I’ve always known that I would be in music, as an only child I had to entertain myself. I loved a crowd, always putting on shows for my mom and her friends.”

One of the reasons that Williams’s music has seen a surge in popularity is his ability to vividly deliver a picture via words. “When I was first introduced to MC’s like Jay-Z & Nas, they really opened up my mind; Jay really made me visualize his lyrics, and it made me realize I could do this because that’s how I was already writing.” Listeners have come to expect William’s penchant for intricately flowing lyrics sprinkled with diverse commentary. Songs like the mind splitting “21st Century” find Williams searching deep within his own soul with one hand while delving the other even deeper into the economic, racial and political soul of the United States. He keeps it light with club tracks like the contagious “Sorority Girls” feat. Sebastian Garcia and cements his mass appeal via his first radio single “Tokyo Lights” feat. Angie Maxx.

Calling his debut album “EPIC WIN” could be seen as a bit dreamy, maybe even braggadocios, but William’s confidence is contagious and he is well aware of the road laid out before him: “This is just the beginning until they are handing me a Grammy, and even then... I’ll just be getting started.” And for that, we salute you!
