In our effort to serve as a premier entertainment platform of showcasing and demonstrating talent in Nashville, we would like to formally introduce you to the recent Belmont University graduate and DAZEY babe, Katelyn Epperly.

Fusing dark emotions with mellow tones, Katelyn has certainly found her niche with this soulful rendition of "Drunk in Love" by Beyonce. We've realized that this is her world, and we're just gracious to live in it. And for that, we salute you!

//// D A Z E Y ////

In the pursuit of living our dreams, we’ve had the unique opportunity to be interviewed by several Belmont University students sharing our tale of success to their fellow classmates. We are truly grateful for all the students that have approached us, and we hope that our work and efforts spark the entrepreneurial spirit within you all. Recently, we were humbled to discuss our journey with Katelyn, an Entrepreneurship major and blogger for DAZEY.

DAZEY is a strong cocktail of fashion, photography, and art. It was born because of two women’s interest in fashion and art and love for the city of Nashville. Rachel is a very artistic and visual individual who has always been interested in blogging. She thought with Katelyn’s expertise in styling and social media marketing that the two of them could really team together to make something great. They wanted a name that was floral inspired but unique. Daisy… DAZEY. They just fell in love with it.

These ladies are nothing short of interesting and memorable. Rachel is a vintage baby doll and Katelyn is an urban city kid. Rachel has purple hair and Katelyn is a white girl with an Afro. The contrast between the two allows each girl to express their own individualities. The atmosphere of the blog is very fun and carefree. DAZEY condones a hard work ethic but never taking yourself too seriously. They strive to live their lives as creatively as possible and want to inspire others to do the same.

DAZEY is launching an online store soon, which is eventually going to move to a mobile storefront. This is their tangible goal but the real mission is to create a culture here in Nashville that thrives on freedom of personal style.

“The word ‘freak’ should not have a bad connotation. Let your freak flag fly! Anyone can and should be a DAZEY babe.” #DazeyBabe

Rachel and Katelyn are both entrepreneurship majors, so being their own boss is a huge priority for them. Also, they love to have the ability to make a living off something creative that inspires others. The DAZEY brand stands for everything they believe in, so to make their values something tangible is a really rad thing that a lot of people don’t get to experience. And for that, we salute them!

How To Live Before You Die

Some of us fear it and some of us face it; either way, death is the only destination that we all share in common. Not every one embraces the thought of death, but it’s something that we can’t avoid. Since we can’t avoid it, we might as well embrace death as one of the greatest inventions known to man. As members of The Yacht Club, we encourage you to live your dreams and treat everyday as if it were your last because there’s a possibility it just might be. We recently watched Stanford University’s commencement ceremony where Steve Jobs, former CEO and co-founder of Apple and Pixar, gave a powerful speech titled, “How to live before you die.”

During this speech, Jobs urges us to pursue our dreams and see the opportunities in life’s setbacks, including death itself. He shared inspirational stories of dropping out of college, getting fired from Apple, and surviving cancer. He gave a narrative of how he turned his failures into success by constantly following his dreams. He teaches us how to strategically “connect the dots” and make the best of any and all situations. He encourages us to find what we love and do what we love, and by doing so, you’ll have all the motivation you need to succeed. Jobs notes that the key to satisfaction is never settling.

Jobs asked himself every morning, “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I’m about to do today?” If your answer is ‘No’, it’s time for a change. Not only is our time on Earth limited, but we only get one chance at living. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way to avoid the trap of thinking that you have something to lose. Jobs taught us that if we don’t have the courage to leave our shores, we’ll never have the opportunity to discover new land. And for that, we salute you!
