//// D A Z E Y ////

In the pursuit of living our dreams, we’ve had the unique opportunity to be interviewed by several Belmont University students sharing our tale of success to their fellow classmates. We are truly grateful for all the students that have approached us, and we hope that our work and efforts spark the entrepreneurial spirit within you all. Recently, we were humbled to discuss our journey with Katelyn, an Entrepreneurship major and blogger for DAZEY.

DAZEY is a strong cocktail of fashion, photography, and art. It was born because of two women’s interest in fashion and art and love for the city of Nashville. Rachel is a very artistic and visual individual who has always been interested in blogging. She thought with Katelyn’s expertise in styling and social media marketing that the two of them could really team together to make something great. They wanted a name that was floral inspired but unique. Daisy… DAZEY. They just fell in love with it.

These ladies are nothing short of interesting and memorable. Rachel is a vintage baby doll and Katelyn is an urban city kid. Rachel has purple hair and Katelyn is a white girl with an Afro. The contrast between the two allows each girl to express their own individualities. The atmosphere of the blog is very fun and carefree. DAZEY condones a hard work ethic but never taking yourself too seriously. They strive to live their lives as creatively as possible and want to inspire others to do the same.

DAZEY is launching an online store soon, which is eventually going to move to a mobile storefront. This is their tangible goal but the real mission is to create a culture here in Nashville that thrives on freedom of personal style.

“The word ‘freak’ should not have a bad connotation. Let your freak flag fly! Anyone can and should be a DAZEY babe.” #DazeyBabe

Rachel and Katelyn are both entrepreneurship majors, so being their own boss is a huge priority for them. Also, they love to have the ability to make a living off something creative that inspires others. The DAZEY brand stands for everything they believe in, so to make their values something tangible is a really rad thing that a lot of people don’t get to experience. And for that, we salute them!

HeatSpine

    Heatspine may not cure your grandparent’s aching back, but it’s sure to send chills down your spine. Although there are many ways to describe Heatspine, we, The Yacht Club, understand Heatspine to be the photographic crumb trail from the life of Stephanie Thomas. Based out of Nashville, TN, Stephanie has truly found her passion to be in fine art, event, and portrait photography.

    Upon purchasing her first camera, at the age of 15 for an art class, she had never even considered any significant thought about photography in her entire life up until that point. Yet, since that moment and up until now, you can see her carrying a camera on her at all times. Unfailingly cemented to her side for 7 years, her camera has truly become a fixture of her person that one day showed up, and never left.

    Stephanie’s transformation into a photographer has been an unceasing journey of learning and creating her own personal language. However, there are no words involved, only light. Stephanie spends her days in constant observance of what she sees, waiting for that fleeting moment of raw, unrefined beauty that shows itself to her. When she sees it, she captures those moments through her camera lens. With the press of a button, she immortalizes tiny moments of time that would otherwise be gone and forgotten.

    Her romantic view of photography makes her relationship to her passion one of ambivalence. Her personal desire to express what she sees doesn't leave much room for conventionalism. She has no time for rules and regulations that most consider concrete truth. To Stephanie, the art of photography is strictly about setting forth her very own testimony of beauty with a single image, with one goal in mind… the possibility of inspiration. And for that, we salute you!
