The essential merch items you need...

So at The Yacht Club Co. where I work we pride ourselves on making hundreds of different print and merch items. We also pride ourselves on customer service, great turnaround times and giving all our great customers the experience they deserve. Here's what I believe to be the top ten most popular items for ever artist.
1) STICKERS:
Duh! Of course stickers are a must, whether they are vinyl cut, dye cut, or plan cheap stickers everyone loves stickers! Your fans put them everywhere, on poles, trashcans, cars, guitars, walls, etc... EVERYWHERE!

2) BADGES/PINS:
Badges come in pretty much any size you need, from 1.25 to 5 inch badges. I don't know why you would want a 5 inch badge unless you are running for office, but hey it's available.
3) T-SHIRTS:
Another no brainer is t-shrits, if you are in a band or play any kind of music at all and want people to take notice having your own t-shirts is a must. If you don't have any then you should probably fix that. The best way for anyone to support your music is custom screen printed t-shirts
4) FLYERS:
Yea maybe the internet should have killed flyers, but it didn't. Why didn't it? Well mainly because word of mouth and face to face interactions are still the best ways to spread the word. Also people love collecting flyers from artist to show that they remember that band when they were starting out. I know I do! I still have some flyers with bands on them before they were even well known, back when they played clubs not amphitheaters.
5) POSTERS:
Much like flyers posters are another thing your fans will love collecting. I myself have tons of posters from bands at the club level that I would rip the poster off the wall and take it home and put it up in my bedroom.

6) BUSINESS CARDS:
Business cards are more for the professional musicians and wedding bands, not so much the rock bands. But not bad for the rock bands either. As a musician meeting people in the industry or people to help you get to where you want to be a business card can be a quick "here you go" to someone. It's easy for them to slip it in there pocket and you don't have to explain all your contact and social media information to them.
7) BEANIES:
I love beanies! I think beanies are like hoodies, everyone has them and everyone has 20 of them. I think I had a beanie from every band I liked going up and probably still do. Though they are more for the cold months, they are popular year round. Your fans will love sporting your badass logo on there sweetass beanie! I know I would!
8) MUGS:
Who doesn’t love custom mugs for coffee or whatever else you are putting in there. Wink wink. The mug is something that people cherish, and they take better care of their mugs than they do most other personal items. Think about it everyone has that favorite go to mug, so why shouldn't it be your logo!
9) NOTEBOOKS:
This item I never really had myself but over the years I have seen this go in popularity, can't really explain much about this other than it's a notebook with your bands logo. You can get some awesome picture on there, or have it screen printed.

10) PHONE CASES:
Last but not least, the phone case! Yea I know who would have thought phone cases would be a popular merch item for bands, but it is. With everyone and their mothers, mothers, mother having a phone now a days you can't afford not to get in on the action. There are so many endless options for what style of case to what color to what logo you put on it. Try it out, just buy a couple and put them on your merch table at your next show. Someone will buy them I know it!

Hurry Back // Nashville's Greatest Beer Selection

Russell’s Hurry Back Market was the original business that stood where Hurry Back is today. This 70’s market sold ice-cold beer, cigarettes, and snacks in the early years of the Elliston Place neighborhood.

During construction of today’s version of Hurry Back, there were artifacts from the original market that were discovered, and, after some research on the location, original photos and stories of Russell’s market began to surface. Today, Hurry Back pays homage to the past, while pushing Elliston toward the future.

The beer selection at Hurry Back is truly unmatched. The bar houses 30 tap handles featuring a selection of high gravity and imported beer that can only be found at Hurry Back. Of course, our favorite local and regional brewers have not been left out! The 3 large roll up windows & deck create a great open-air experience, and the 122’ projector, showing select sporting events, is pretty sweet too!

The team at Hurry Back hopes that their take on beer will continue to enrich and inform people about the great beers being brewed around the world, regionally, and locally; and they are excited to continue supporting the growing Elliston Place neighborhood.

Whether you’re grabbing cocktails and high-end allocated Whiskey at William Colliers, seeing a show or attending an event at Exit/In or Marathon Music Works, or grabbing a beer from Hurry Back, they are motivated by continuing to broaden the cultural footprint that is Nashville

//// D A Z E Y ////

In the pursuit of living our dreams, we’ve had the unique opportunity to be interviewed by several Belmont University students sharing our tale of success to their fellow classmates. We are truly grateful for all the students that have approached us, and we hope that our work and efforts spark the entrepreneurial spirit within you all. Recently, we were humbled to discuss our journey with Katelyn, an Entrepreneurship major and blogger for DAZEY.

DAZEY is a strong cocktail of fashion, photography, and art. It was born because of two women’s interest in fashion and art and love for the city of Nashville. Rachel is a very artistic and visual individual who has always been interested in blogging. She thought with Katelyn’s expertise in styling and social media marketing that the two of them could really team together to make something great. They wanted a name that was floral inspired but unique. Daisy… DAZEY. They just fell in love with it.

These ladies are nothing short of interesting and memorable. Rachel is a vintage baby doll and Katelyn is an urban city kid. Rachel has purple hair and Katelyn is a white girl with an Afro. The contrast between the two allows each girl to express their own individualities. The atmosphere of the blog is very fun and carefree. DAZEY condones a hard work ethic but never taking yourself too seriously. They strive to live their lives as creatively as possible and want to inspire others to do the same.

DAZEY is launching an online store soon, which is eventually going to move to a mobile storefront. This is their tangible goal but the real mission is to create a culture here in Nashville that thrives on freedom of personal style.

“The word ‘freak’ should not have a bad connotation. Let your freak flag fly! Anyone can and should be a DAZEY babe.” #DazeyBabe

Rachel and Katelyn are both entrepreneurship majors, so being their own boss is a huge priority for them. Also, they love to have the ability to make a living off something creative that inspires others. The DAZEY brand stands for everything they believe in, so to make their values something tangible is a really rad thing that a lot of people don’t get to experience. And for that, we salute them!

Do yourself a favor - Like DAZEY on Facebook and follow them on Twitter and Instagram to stay updated on their happenings.

Festival Evolution: FestEvo App

With festival season approaching fast, we’re all in a scramble to find out what festivals we’re going to attend and who of our friends are going too. Well ease your mind and scramble no more, we’ve found the perfect app to assist you during festival season. Our dear friend, Tucker Gumber, and his team of dreamers have a passion for festivals and they are in pursuit of developing and funding an app called FestEvo.

Tucker’s quest of FestEvo spawned from spending the last three years of his life reviewing festivals from his website: www.TheFestivalGuy.com. His ultimate goal from the start was to find ways to improve the festival experience. His idea was to go to as many festivals as possible with the belief that eventually an idea to improve them would soon come into fruition.

Suddenly, the idea came to him after attending South By South West. After returning home and catching up with friends on Facebook, Tucker saw pictures being posted from many of his friends that had attended SXSW as well.  Missing the opportunity to connect with his friends because he didn’t know that they were attending the same festival, Tucker realized that festivals would be improved if everyone knew which of their friends were going to each festival ahead of time.  So he created a mobile app and website to diminish this problem, and he continuously added new features through the concept of “wouldn’t it be cool if…”

FestEvo makes sure you always have people to go to festivals with by showing you which of your friends are going (or want to go) to each festival. FestEvo makes it easier to know the entire lineup by giving you access to every festival lineup and letting you listen to each artist via Spotify and SoundCloud. The more artists you know, the more fun you will have. FestEvo also helps the festivals improve by having the users fill out surveys so they get real data on ways the festival can improve.

The biggest feature in FestEvo is the Camp feature. Every member is encouraged to create a “Camp” with the people who they are going to the festival with. Having everyone in a group chat leading up to the festival will help everyone get to know each other leading up to the event. FestEvo will also work with the camp creators to encourage its members to stop bringing trash (plastic water bottles, glow sticks) to the festival and pick up their campsite once the festival ends.

Fast-forward 10 months and FestEvo has everything you need to prepare for your favorite festival. The only thing FestEvo is missing is the funds to fully develop the application, so they need your help! They only have a few days left in the campaign to raise funds and you get awesome festival gear, tools, and accessories for your donations! You can help make FestEvo possible by donating and sharing this campaign with your friends!

Sharing is caring and caring is love, so show some love to FestEvo! Become a part of something much larger than the individual and change the festival going experience forever! And for that, we would salute You!
